KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 17.11 g, 1 h), Babylon I, struck under Seleukos I, circa 311-300 BC. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. [ΒAΣIΛEΩΣ] - AΛEΞANΔPO[Y] Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, MI above grape bunch; below throne, monogram within wreath. Price 3758. SC 82.3b. A beautiful example of very attractive style. The reverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, very fine.
